多播存根路由可用于使用低带宽链路连接到主站点的远程站点。使用PIM密集模式时,由于PIM密集模式的泛洪和剪枝行为,这些链路可能会因组播流量而负担过重。由于会合点通知,PIM稀疏模式也可以利用该链路。远程路由器必须接受RP发现消息,构建RP缓存并在其组播路由表中维护其所有本地接收器的状态。
当我们将路由器配置为“多播存根”时,它将不会处理任何PIM或IGMP消息。相反,它会将所有这些消息转发到主站点上的路由器。让我举个例子拓扑:
上面我们有一个带4个路由器的小型网络。R1和R2位于“远程办公室”,R3和R4位于“主站点”。R2和R3之间是容量有限的WAN串行链路。
我们将配置此网络,以便R1是接收器,R4是源,R2将成为我们的多播存根路由器。让我们开始吧!
